Swiger Run History Library Inc.

We are an organization of individuals interested in history preservation and production. We promote family involvement and enhancement for residents and descendants of West Virginia. We do it thru teaching, education, written, oral and pictorial histories and involvement of youth with mentoring and individual activities.

Swiger Run Research Library and Museum was established in 2000. Since this time we have served over 10000 individuals, through family and county researches. Some of our methods include extended trips to various genealogical sites and courthouses to establish event dates and names. We have also done trips to historical graveyards, some way back in the woods, to make records of the headstones located there. We are currently researching over 300 family located in North Central West Virginia. Another project currently being worked on is scanning all of our photos, and then creating DVD's with matching books. These DVD's, books, and some bigger family and community books are available for purchase.
